About Us
Barry's is a family
owned and operated business. Owners David and Rita Barry and their 5
children all work for the business.
During the past twenty-four
years, this family-owned business has been hard-at- work growing and
expanding over 12 acres of land. They have been building and
growing to meet the needs of their customers.
We started in 1976,
building a flower shop and four greenhouses on a vacant field on Whitehall
Road. Now in 2000, we have 14 greenhouses mostly utilized for annual
production, a full nursery stocked with trees and shrubs, raised perennial
beds and specimen gardens holding 100,000 pots of perennials, a growing
area for large trees, and a flower and gift shop three times larger than
its original size.
All of this dedication has been worthwhile as
more and more people have seen what we have to offer. Our goal at
Barry's is not only to provide you with an excellent selection, but also
offer high quality plant material and professional service. We are
able to provide high quality by growing most of our own plants.
Being a grower also allows us to sell our plants at a reasonable
price. Our staff is comprised of helpful and friendly people, some
of whom are Master Gardeners, Michigan Certified Nurserymen (MCN), and a
horticulturist graduate from Michigan State University.
Not only
are you able to buy "direct from the grower", but you are also
able to bring home the knowledge to further grow your plants
successfully. If you are ever dissatisfied, please let us know so
that we can take care of it.
